WooHoo! It #goalsettingsunday!! There is some talk about town about how SMART goals don’t work, and how you just have to “do it”. I happen to use a combined method of goal setting derived from a few systems, that combined work for me. I guess I should design a course ???! Seriously though a few quick goal setting tips!! Ready? Let’s go:

.) Set aside time to map your goals. I do weekly and quarterly with different functions. Quarterly is to set a 90 day plan and get my team on board with my vision. Weekly is a more one on one to ensure we are taking the steps to reach the big goals! Mind you, don’t let tge planning take up more time than the doing!

.) Always start with the big goal so your milestones keep you on track! For example, don’t set a goal of making $1 mil and forget to set measurements and milestones along the way.

.) Setting reasonable goals is not about limiting your potential, it’s just smart business. No one wants to feel like a failure, so make sure you have the time and energy to put into the goals you set. If you want to increase engagement on a certain platform, make sure you set time and space to do just that!

.) Don’t be afraid to change course! There is no reason to feel defeated by an incomplete goal that wasn’t the correct goal to begin with. The words we use with ourselves will show to others, therefore feeling defeated about a unfinished goal may appear as a lack of confidence. Remember, change is the one constant in life. Embrace that! If along the path to goal completion you realize you’re not on the right path, or outcomes are taking you I’m different or better direction, go with it. Likewise, if outcomes show that you veering so far off path and it’s not good, you might need to reevaluate the milestones and mini steps!

.) Lastly, make sure you celebrate success! Every success won’t be treated with love and happiness by others. You know what it took from you, celebrate. Keep track of completed tasks!
